Well for being at Enrich this year it has been rather fun and rather challenging. Why am I commenting like this you may ask, but today is my very very very last at Enrich! Since I am a year 6 I do not stay on....
I am now going to high school. I have enjoyed being at Enrich for the past year, we have done perspective, which was the way you see things. And for that we went on the Water tower. Then we did Environment which was very challenging with all the planning. Then in term 4 it was basically back to normal doing must dos and picks.
I have met a lot of new friends. Well anyway today I did another stick animation! (Yes I have done an infinite and 1 of them.) But this time I added special effects lightning effects from the movie star wars.
It was quite hard to add the cool effect to the movie but it was a lot easier to do then some other ways.... I just used iMovie HD. Sadly the video file is too large to upload.... This is my final blog post at Enrich!
John @ Enrich
Hi! My name is John and I'm a year 6 and I go to Enrich every Wednesday. Enrich is a school for gifted kids. We do a lot of different things that we don't do at school. This is something we do at Enrich. Concept Curriculum which is perspective (the way you look at something). Mental Edge that is games that makes us think, games like Chess. We also do Passion time. Passion Time is when we do something that we wanna learn or do like writing a novel, making animations , clay making , etc.

Stick Animation
Today at Enrich I did a stick animations for passion time.(I know I do a million animations!) Once again I used the same website and this time made a short movie,(Which took until Christmas... just kidding.) which has 300 frames which is basically 300 pictures! I have managed to make it go very smooth but the smoother it is, the harder it is to make it. The animation is about a stick figure doing a whole lot of crazy moves, like stretching his arm and karate kicking in the air. I have also managed to record it and here it is!
It took about 20 minutes to make. The website for the animation is here: http://www.stickpage.com/stickanimatorgameplay.shtml
The website even had options for saving and exporting! Which for a website game is quite good and helpful. There also is a similar program called pivot stick-figure animator but it is a program not a website game.

Stick Animation
Today at Enrich for passion time, I did stick animations instead of lego aniamtions. I used an online animation website to do it which is on stick page. It was fun and I made two, both were a guy falling from from the sky and then getting back up.
I also did a third one which was a guy karate kicking into the sky, which he then landed off the page!
Since it was a website game instead of a programme it didn't have many options of what you could do, like inserting more objects or changing colour of objects.

Lego Animation (With Video)
Today at Enrich we did passion time for about an hour it was fun and I added effects to my lego animations, which gladly I can now present on the blog!
It took me a couple of weeks to make all of these and I have added my 3 best ones together, the first one is at 10 frames per second making it a little choppy the other ones are at 5 or 3 frames per second making it look smoother.
My first one is about a wild sea lion who is this randoms guys pet who comes and collects him. The other two you will need to watch to see them!

Type without looking?
Today at Enrich we did a letter typing game, except the only catch was that we had to do it without looking. I was quite good at it! I found it quite hard, even right now as I am typing this I am not looking (just for practice).
The words we had to type weren't actually words but random letters containing the letters asdf, they were simple and quite easy for me but I could not type as fast as I would normally with looking. But typing without looking at what you are doing makes you not realize mistakes that you make during this but I still need to look for caps lock and commas and the rest which is bit hard to find without looking.
Overall I found it most enjoyable but frustrating when it would not type because I forgot a space!

Animations
Today at Enrich Caleb and I made Lego animations, we each took turns doing our own idea and we managed to make two in the end. My one was about a car going fast with criminals and crashing into a brick wall....
Caleb's one was about a truck going past and dumping a hungry shark, which then later a lego mini-figure comes along and gets eaten in one bite, then his head rolls quietly across the ground....
Also with my one when the wall falls down from the crash of the car, a guy is with a trophy and another guy lands in the trophy, so he is upside down!

Wilson game
Today at Enrich we did a Wilson game, the Wilson game we did was called "All or nothing" the objective of the game is to get the beanbag into a basket, located in a hoop. There were four hoops. If you got the beanbag in the basket you would move it to the next hoop and you would have to throw it to the next person, if they didn't catch the ball you would have to put the beanbag and the basket right back at the beginning!
My team didn't win, but we would have won on points! We did three rounds and we would have won all of them if it was for points but we never managed to get the ball all the way to the last and throw it back and catch it....
