Animations

Today at Enrich Caleb and I made Lego animations, we each took turns doing our own idea and we managed to make two in the end. My one was about a car going fast with criminals and crashing into a brick wall....

Caleb's one was about a truck going past and dumping a hungry shark, which then later a lego mini-figure comes along and gets eaten in one bite, then his head rolls quietly across the ground....

Also with my one when the wall falls down from the crash of the car, a guy is with a trophy and another guy lands in the trophy, so he is upside down!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Picture of the guy flying over the wall....

Wilson game

Today at Enrich we did a Wilson game, the Wilson game we did was called "All or nothing" the objective of the game is to get the beanbag into a basket, located in a hoop. There were four hoops. If you got the beanbag in the basket you would move it to the next hoop and you would have to throw it to the next person, if they didn't catch the ball you would have to put the beanbag and the basket right back at the beginning!

My team didn't win, but we would have won on points! We did three rounds and we would have won all of them if it was for points but we never managed to get the ball all the way to the last and throw it back and catch it....

Digital Animations

Today at Enrich I did a digital animation, although it seemed very hard and complicated to achieve.

First the program I used was called Blender. Blender is 3D software that can make and model 3D objects. Examples are heads, people, lego, plus millions more.

Since this was my second time ever using the awesome programme Blender, I didn't get very far although I have managed to make a small animation. The animation is a couple of shapes that glide around, sadly it would appear that it is impossible to post it on this blog....

Chess Master Vs Master!

Today At Enrich I played an exciting and fierce game with AJ, one of the students at Enrich.

First I lost my Queen, then I decided I would not be beaten so I then did a couple of very tricky moves with my two knights that managed to knock his queen right off the chess board.

After that, the loud music came on so we decided to cancel the game since it was looking as it would end up as a stale mate.I had My king, two pawns and a knight left and AJ had his king and 3 pawns.

Also today at Enrich we had a garden expert come in and talk with the people who are doing the garden for their environment project  at Wachner Place. The garden expert's name is Bruce. Together we planned out what plants we are going to use, and how we are going to arrange them. We are planning to plant roses, dwarf yellow and purple flax bushes too.

Chess

Today at Enrich we played chess like we normally do each week we come. Today I played against Reid and Luca.

I played Reid once and Luca twice. The reason I played Luca twice is because he wanted a rematch since the first game went quickly and not so good for him.

Out of the 3 games I played I won all of them! I was white against Reid and black against Luca in the first match and then white in the second match.

On the leader-board I am the 9th highest out of around 30 kids! Luca is one below me and Reid is a couple below him. I had a excellent day.

Science: Circuits

Today at Enrich, the students that have been doing science and I had to make a circuit that makes lead light up!

You may think "How hard could it possibly be!" Well we had to only use things that you would find around your home. For example for a stand we used a toilet paper holder and for a cover for safety so the light does not burn and set on fire we used a jar!

We used a pie tin to put the holder on so it would not catch fire.

Here is a picture of a lead light but it is a different version.

Hello today was the first day on of Enrich for term 3! Today we got the choice to do tessellations, chemistry or art. I choose chemistry because I had never done it. The chemistry we did was making elephant toothpaste!. Yes it does sound strange but it is awesome!

To make it you need the following:
A test tube
Food colouring (optional)
A glass
Yeast
A teaspoon and tablespoon
Hot water
Soap

Hydrogen peroxide

Steps:

1. Pour the hydrogen peroxide into the test tube till it is 3/4 full.
2. Add some food colouring (Optional).
3. Add a squirt of soap.
4. With the glass add a teaspoon of yeast and add hot water stir it till it has dissolved.
5. Add the yeast to the test tube and watch the explosion!
